Ms. Runco is from a small town in Canada, where she grew up speaking English and French. Following high school graduation she spent a few years working, traveling & exploring the world. Her travels took her to Central America, Turkey, Europe & North Africa. It was in Libya where experiences teaching English sparked an interest in education as a career. Upon returning home, she enrolled and received her Bachelors of Science, a Masters in Education as well as a Masters in Global Education. She has taught Science and World Issues for 10 years at both the high school and university level. She has had the privilege of working with schools in Canada, Costa Rica, Uganda & The United States. Wherever she has had the privilege to teach, Ms. Runco has focused on ways in which to connect classroom content to the real world as well as to students’ experiences in order to make learning meaningful to them.
