BWA Student Spotlight

This is a special page where we will highlight students and families from our two schools who are shining stars! These are students who have captured our attention through their dedication to studies, overcoming challenges, and their overall achievements. We are proud of all of our students and so pleased to highlight those who have worked hard!

Family Spotlight – Baker Web Academy
Spaugh Family

The Spaugh family was highlighted in an article recently published in the Baker City Herald. This amazing family is a family that truly cares about their children. They have carefully and thoughtfully planned each child’s education according to their unique interests, abilities, and goals. Their desire for high quality and options within the public setting led them to our schools! Their oldest daughter will be attending Blue Mountain Community College this fall through the Web College program as well as attending Baker High School for soccer and jazz band. Her younger brother will attend BWA full time locally in Baker City. The youngest daughter attends a local elementary school as well. The Spaugh family is a pleasure to work and we are excited they have chosen our schools!

See what our students are up to! Projects, activities, and highlights!

Student Spotlight – Baker Web Academy- Fetheya Alattar

Science Project

A BWA student since 2009-2010, Fetheya Alattar recently participated in the Intel Northwest Science Expo at Portland Stat University and won Honorable Mention in the category of Behavioral Science. She spent months researching and creating her presentation entitled “How Hearing Deprivation May Improve Visual Learning,” including an experimental study that required her to find volunteers in her community and hold a class where she tested her hypothesis about the relationship between hearing and sight. She is a 6th grader and was competing at the Middle School level. She participated last year as well and placed second in her division.  Baker Web Academy is proud of Fetheya Alattar and her accomplishments!
