Richelle’s career is focused on helping people develop into their potential.  Since becoming a school counselor in 2007, she finds much joy in navigating high school and beyond with students and their families.  Prior to that, she dedicated years working for a Fortune Global 500 company in Human Resources, so she understands the work-world after high school and what it takes to get there.

Richelle obtained an M.A. in School Counseling from George Fox University and has a B.S. in Human Resources from Oakland University.  Her roots are in Michigan, but considers Portland, Oregon home after more than a decade.  Her personal interests include hiking, camping, dog sitting, mystery shopping, researching vacation destinations and raising her two very active boys with her husband.

Richelle is eager to help Baker students find their academic path and succeed in life.

Stormy Ballenger

Today for Show and Tell, I’ve brought a tiny marvel of nature: a single snowflake. I think we might all learn a lesson from how this utterly unique and exquisite crystal turns into an ordinary, boring molecule of water, just like every other one, when you bring it in the classroom. And now, while the analogy sinks in, I’ll be leaving you drips and going outside.
